The ambience was topnotch.
We ordered the 5-course tasting menu, since we weren’t that hungry. We were given complimentary champagne after ordering.
> The small bites had an Asian influence. Interesting enough.
> The breads were, unsurprisingly, fantastic.
> The raw red prawn was enjoyable. It reminded me of flavors I had in Aska.
> The smoked amberjack was underwhelming in both taste and presentation, but it came with what I will liken to a bacon from the sea. That I found interesting.
> The bottoni pasta was simple but good enough.
> The turbot more than made up for the pasta. It was sublime.
> The mandarin and honey was unexpected but good.
We got the wine pairing, and the sommelier picked fabulous wines. Highly recommend!
We were not blown away by the food, but are open to returning. Perhaps we’ll try the classic 7-course tasting menu or the Chef Experience next time.

Please tell me more about bacon of the sea
One of my favorite spots in the world in one of my favorite cities in the world!
I ate here two years ago. We made the mistake of doing it our first night in Florence with a 9 year old who was falling asleep at the table with insane jet lag. Lovely meal though. lol.
