When my daughter was very young and started reaching for the handles of pots on the stove we got a stool for her to raise her up to see what was going on and started teaching her to cook. When she was 9 years old she planned and prepared an 8 course dinner for eight people. Now, as an adult, there is virtually no dish that she is afraid to attempt and successfully complete. (She didn’t go into the culinary arts, she is a singer and actress.).
Everyone should know how to cook at least for themselves.
