I noticed the calorie increase on the strawberry funday go from 77-98. i decided to test its effect on my blood sugar fasted. i am fit, non diabetic. the results were horrifying. i packet sent my blood sugar from 4.7mmol to 6.0mmol at 15 minutes than peaked at 8.8mmol at 30 minutes now back down to. 8.0mmol at 45 minutes. very disappointed , i had been eating these quite regularly until now.

  1. 98 calories is only about 5g of sugar from 77 calories of the calories are from carbs. If you’re not diabetic or insulin resistant, the change in blood sugar for a normal pancreas is a non issue. That’s how your body reacts to sugar. I would be curious what the results would be with a test strip for drinks.

guys you can down vote me all you like but the reality is for a lot of people – myself included – those unavailable carbohydrates in funday sweets and the double d ones can actually be fully broken down and act as sugars depending on your gut biome. i’m just trying to spread awareness about this misleading product. sorry to disappoint you

“IMO” are still partially digested and they do have a discernable effect on blood sugar, though less than it would be for regular carbs.

Thanks for posting. I had no idea about IMO carbs. I pretty much only eat unprocessed foods but sometimes I’ll cheat with a low carb snack.

I’ll stay away from these. When I break ketosis it can mean my CFS/Fibro and migraines return.

  5. I used to be borderline prediabetic and these would spike me to 10mmol. There have been other posts talking about these funday sweets spiking blood sugar. You’re better off eating real gummies as they spike less

Going from 4.7 to 8.8 is massive when the nutririon label implies the carbs are so low.

I have a similiar response of 4mmol increase when I have my daily smoothie which has 23g of net carbs.

My CGM after eating these. It stayed elevated above 10 for over 2 hours. Nothing else I ate during those two weeks ever came close to spiking it this high and this fast for this long, including chocolate, lollies, donuts, etc. I still don’t really understand why. The second time I ate them to test it wasn’t the cgm acting up, it spiked the same way again, and I had to eat actual sugar to induce some kind of insulin response to bring my blood sugar down a lot faster.

  8. I got huge spikes from these when I had gestational diabetes. Couldn’t understand it at all and wondered it was just me. Thanks for posting.
