Placebo effect. You’re talking about a beverage with 0.5% (so low as to legally be considered non-alcoholic) versus 5% alcohol.
If, for example, 5 beers puts you over the legal limit, it would take at least FIFTY kombuchas lol. You’re not getting a buzz.

I’m an alcoholic and drink both this and NA beer occasionally, and I’m glad they exist because I genuinely like them. They are *extremely* helpful to feed the cravings of the addict mind. But you won’t get buzzed off either, and I think selling them as though you would is doing them a disservice. They are fizzy drinks, with interesting flavors, and nothing more or less than that.

Synergy is not one of them, but there is such a thing as Hard Kombucha. Usually about 5% ABV. It’s going to have more calories, though. Has to – that’s how alcohol works…
