The sodium content always makes me reconsider soups. I hate it because they are so filling

Super filling? Now I wouldn’t go that far lol

Soup is just a cheat code to begin with. I always make a batch of soup for a few lunches for the week, even when it’s hot outside. Sometimes you just need a warm meal to feel satiated.

It’s 43% of the sodium someone eating a 2000 cal/day should consume

Never tried those microwaveable soups. Are they any good taste wise?

Thanks for sharing. I’ll bet this could be bulked out with some additional veg to make an enjoyable lunch with a half sandwich. Nice nails too!

It is, look at that sodium content. No thanks

It’s basically just 300 grams of water with a gram of salt with some chicken flavor. Drinking a glass of water with fill your stomach too.

Just cause it’s low calorie doesn’t mean you should eat it.

Looks right. I lost almost 20 lbs replacing lunches with cup-a-soups ca. 2005. They are amazing. If you have hypotension, they hit the salt craving too.

The sodium in these Campbells soups is unbelievable and makes them close to inedible

When I want easy soup to fill me I make Miso soup with white miso and hondashi.

This is a great idea for a portable lunch, but I’m wondering how a low-sodium version of this would taste. Unfortunately the amount of salt in this product is just not healthy.

980 mg of sodium! 😳

This has 43% of the daily necessary salt and 6% of the recommended protein intake.
This is not a nourishing product regardless of what is felt when eating it.
It could be treated like a salted stock and a person can add good foods to it.

There’s also a company called Yumsu who make Kimchi flavoured noodles that are 55 cals a pack. Here’s an [example](https://mullacoonline.com/products/yumsu-kimchi-flavour-instant-noodles-4pk?variant=44960897630457¤cy=GBP&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwpZWzBhC0ARIsACvjWRNS7szjzFbLsE3mdLDn3Mj79STbwEARo_vLg2KOlqwu7WSB6F3SY2caAlTbEALw_wcB) but I actually buy them in the UK from a store called B&M for £1 for a 4 pack. The noodles plump nicely while still being firm and they make a pretty substantial bowlful. I like having them with a big dollop of actual Kimchi (Baxters Kimchi 42 cals for 100g but I only put less than half that in) and then I’ll have some chopped spring onions (scallions) on it, maybe some protein if I need to get my macros up or bulk it with steamed broccoli or other vegetables. Anyhoo, I like it cause I can pretty much make a tasty lunch for under 100 calories a bowl and it’s great for freeing me up if I want more leeway for dinner. Highly recommended and cheap as chips if you’re in the UK.

Soup is an outstanding diet food. It’s often going to be low-calorie and fill you up.
I’ll often keep some grilled chicken around for salads and other stuff, and sometimes I’ll make soup like this and throw some more chicken in with it. It’s only about 100-150 more calories (still less than 300 total) and is still pretty filling.

i think i may have upset some people with this post so if anyone sees this i’d like to say i’m really sorry.
i want to clarify that i was never trying to give nutritional advice by posting this, i was just in disbelief by how low cal it is.
personally the whole thing was filling, i think some people disagree which is completely fine but i don’t know why some people think i’m lying about that. also i’m sorry if the caption was triggering, i tried to edit but for some reason i can’t (i don’t know how to use reddit well though so i might just be slow)
i promise i was not attention seeking or “boasting” by posting this, i apologize again 🙁

Swanson makes a sippin soup thing this size that is only chicken bone broth without the tiny amount of little noodles. It’s 45 calories, 9g protien, and less sodium than the campbells soup. I put little shreds of chicken in it or sometimes leftover cooked veggies to make it more soup-like. There’s a plain version or a version with ginger that is good when my tummy is tender.
