  2. I am completely unfamiliar with this dish, it’s origins, flavour profile, I couldn’t even tell if it was dinner or dessert. It *looks* like toast with custard.

    I could Google it, but for others who are also going to want to know what this is, could you tell us what it is, where it’s from, any special ingredients etc.?

    Just about every South Asian nation has a version of it. Pakistan has it, Bangladesh has it, and different parts of India have it.
