Am I the only one? Some Mexican food spots serve a “California burrito” with just fries, pico, cheese, and carne asada?

When I order a real California burrito, I’m expecting fries, pico de gallo, cheese, sour cream, and guacamole. Is this not the standard? It’s definitely the most delicious.

  1. If I had a choice between a Texas TexMex burrito or California burrito it would be California hands down.

  2. Nearly every Taco shop here is Oregon sells this (with the guac) but calls it an ‘Oregon’ Burrito lol. Though, I’ve seen two variations in Oregon; one with French Fries and others with what most people would call ‘Home Fries’. Either way, it is one of my favorite burrito types to order.

  3. I prefer a Mission burrito myself. Basically the same except with rice and beans and no fries

  4. I skipped having one in San Diego this time around and am already regretting it. The ones I’ve had around where I live are just not the same.
