So it wasn’t just my school that had that chewy bits with rubber cheese on cardboard. If someone showed me your pizza then showed me the school stuff, it would be the equivalent of seeing cats at a cat cafe then going to the wild and trying to pet a leopard.

Did you find the absolute worst possible version of every ingredient? Did you add additional soy to everything just in case?

Did you use the recipe from Tasting History?
https://www.tastinghistory.com/recipes/schoollunchcheesepizza if you haven’t tried it. It’s a pretty foolproof way to make a halfway decent slice/loaf.
Hell yeah I’d pound down a square slice of that along with a pint of chocolate milk for some reason at 11:30am, then go run a mile ten minutes later
We had decent square pizza at my school. Always served with a side of corn and ice cream for dessert
We had “granny” lunch ladies who knew how to make the best out of the ingredients so our lunches were always pretty tasty for what they were.
Everyone dipped it in ranch sauce. Some combined ranch and peanut butter, some ranch and ketchup.
I wanna make the sheet pizza that had that white sauce on it with sausage.
I still have fond memories of Mexican pizza day. Those were individual and round with sausage on them. Absolute fire.
We had pizza buns! Basically toasted hamburger buns with pizza sauce and cheese. Delicious.
