greetings everyone 🙌 We grilled those 5 years ago (March, 2021), It was one of our first ForestMEATings, which are happening almost every week. Beef, Bacon, Sauce, Pickle — always works good. Caramelised Onion+Baked Apples, which I tasted for the first time, that's one of the best toppings so far, I've ever eaten. so, if anyone is wondering what magic tastes like😁 here's recipe (I would recommend making It in Your preferences and experimenting, cause We ourselves never followed the recipe exactly😅)

ingredients (4-5 burgers):

— patties: 1 kg/2,2 lbs ground beef (20-22% fat), salt, black pepper (garlic powder, a bit worcestershire sauce optional)

— caramelized onion-apple topping: 2-3 large onions (thinly sliced), 6-8 sourish apples (cored, baked whole or sliced), 50-70 g butter, 2-3 tbsp brown sugar, salt, pepper

— sauce thousandIsland style 150-200 g mayo, 3-4 tbsp ketchup, 1-2 tbsp finely chopped pickles/relish, 1 tsp worcestershire sauce, 1 tsp mustard, pinch paprika, chopped herbs (dill/parsley/green onion), pepper

— additionally 8-10 strips thick-cut bacon, sesame seed buns, sliced pickles (lots)

pre-grilling:

  1. form 4-5 thick patties (200-250 g each), make a small dimple in center, season lightly. chill/freeze

  2. bake apples (whole cored or sliced) at 180°C/350°F ~20-30 min, to fully soft condition and mash into puree

  3. caramelize onions: slow-cook sliced onions in butter ~25-30 min, add sugar, then mix in apple puree. cook to dark, sweet mass

  4. sauce: combine all ingredients, taste & adjust (creamy, tangy-sweet with bits)

grilling:

— start with patties (3-5 min each side) and bacon a with a slight delay (1-2 min) on medium or low heat

— flipping and put bacon on patties🤙

— assembl (bottom to top): bun → generous sauce → patty → big scoop caramelized onion-apple topping → 2-3 strips bacon → plenty of pickle slices → more sauce on top bun → close

Bon appetit, chat🤗
