[Homemade] Reuben sandwich.

  1. This is not only the first time ever making a Reuben sandwich, but the first time ever trying one as well! How’d I do?

I requested a fresh baked loaf of marble rye to pick up today from the bakery.

I got Boars Head corned beef/swiss cheese/sourkraut and grabbed a bottle of Ken’s Russian dressing to top it off. I also got these interesting looking dirty pickles and jalapeño popper kettle chips for the side.

I ended up caramelizing the kraut in some butter, then I steamed the corned beef in a covered pan for about a minute. I put two slices of Swiss cheese on the inside and spread the Russian dressing on the cheese, then I assembled the whole sandwich. Spread some mayo on the outside and pan fried it in a covered pan for a little over a minute on each side.

It tastes so delicious lol. All the flavors come together perfectly. The chips are great and dirty pickles are definitely different but really good. I’m so full right now. 10/10 highly recommend!

  2. I have no idea what a Reuben is but I need this (I am German so I recognize the sauerkraut but never had it on a sandwich)! Looks great.

  3. I’d make one but corned beef is totally different here in the UK. Ours is crumbly and minced up

  4. This is what I’m making for St Patrick’s Day. One of the best sandwiches ever invented.
