Was in Merida last weekend for work and decided to check out Huniik by myself as it was ranked 32 for Latin America in 50best. Overall I was very pleased and would go back.

– Service was perfectly attentive. Very friendly overall.

– They did find a nice balance between getting creative with the traditional dishes but still maintaining a familiar identity to them.

– My favorite dishes were the cochinita pibil with mussels and the red onion foam. It worked so well and the liquid could’ve been eaten like a soup on its own. Also the flor de calabaza ice cream is one of the best ice creams I’ve had in a long time.

– They were very generous with the pours in the pairing. And they kept topping me off which through out every course. However, I wish they would’ve maybe gotten a bit more creative with it. They did give me some Mexican wines but I would’ve liked more.

– The setting was nice enough. The stone walls were cool. The tile floor does a need a little bit of attention. IT wasn’t unsightly just worn.

– The dinner was 2700 mxn and the pairing was 2500 mxn. So in total with tip it ended up being about 6000 mxn which is about $350 USD.
