If you would have called that steak, I would have believed you. Does it look a bit like dark tuna before you cook it? Did the marinade make it darker in colour or influence the sear? What does it taste like??

I had Minke about 9 years ago and would describe it as a slightly herring flavoured beef steak.

Interesting, last few times I had Minke whale, the meat was a lot darker.
