An absolutely beautiful meal that has saved us from an unlucky run of a few restaurants we just thought were not worth the money.
The beef tartar was incredible, tasted like a rib eye steak. That biscuit in the back was morish and rich.
The bread course was an absolute showstopper. Perfectly soft bread with a fine crunch. A plummy custardy thick pot of goodness. A little serving of beer made with the same yeast they used to make the bread. 2 gorgeous butters.
The duck course was just phenomenal. No notes.
The frozen blue cheese with a birch syrup was a flavour explosion, my friend had been the week prior and she said to me, “I hope you get the blue cheese!” Well. We did and it was incredible. I would go back again just for this course.
Some beautiful petit fours, unfortunately the location is very remote and we had booked on a whim so hadn’t booked a hotel. We had to rush these as a rare taxi was available. Ordered these with the cocktail with croissant syrup in, absolutely delicious!
The wine pairing was great, bit rushed in the explanations but they were completely full. A more lively/relaxed atmosphere than other Michelin star restaurants but extremely lucky to have been able to visit. 💕
