    ahh yes, stirring, completely different than mixing and infinitely easier! professional bakers hate this one hack!

    All the surprised folks in the comments didn’t grow up with relatives making goofy/wacky cake.

  3. aka Goofy Cake – yep its a great, easy and affordable option. Perfect for kids who can’t have eggs too.

  4. I made this cake a bunch during COVID, so I have some suggestions. First, it’s easier just to mix up the batter in a separate bowl. This way you can also grease the cake pan. Second, replace the water with cooled coffee. It really makes it taste more chocolatey with no real coffee flavor. Finally, adding about a 1/2 cup of chocolate chips is nice. I usually didn’t frost the cake, just dusted it with powdered sugar or sprinkles.
