I’m actually so happy with what I’ve made today!! 🥹😍 I’ve also added pics with the list of ingredients I used if anyone is interested – The only thing I didn’t list is salt, pepper and spices, (mostly garlic powder and taco seasoning).
Things I did differently compared to normal lasagne to make it lower calorie:
– I didn’t use any oil or butter AT ALL. I’ve actually been doing this for a few weeks now and realised how easy it is to cook without adding all those extra calories!!
– Used lean beef mince
– Added carrots, frozen spinach, diced tomatoes, capsicum and mushrooms to the mince (3rd pic). I got this idea to add veggies to the mince for volume from the comments on my first post on this sub. Thanks guys.
– Used cottage cheese, Greek yoghurt, high protein milk, aioli and siracha for the sauce
– Used eatlean shredded cheese (it’s the best option I could find in Coles and Woolies – 42 kcal and 9g protein per serve)
It turned out quite yummy and it’s actually almost like regular lasagne tbh. Only thing that could be improved is that it turned out a bit too watery but I’m assuming it’s cause I added yogurt and milk to the sauce 😅
I had 1 slice for lunch and gonna be having 1 more for dinner tonight. Then I’ll have 2 left for tomorrow’s lunch and dinner. That totals 772 calories for lunch/dinner for these 2 days, and I have plenty of calories left to eat breakfast/snacks 🥰🥰
Btw if anyone living in Australia sees this, I would rlly appreciate any advice on any lower calorie cheese or lasagne sheets options. I got the coles lasagne sheets which is 222 calories for 2 and a half sheets 😭 and the eatlean cheese is 42 calories a serve.
Looking for lower calorie options here is kinda hard ngl. Like back when I posted the wraps I made for breakfast, ppl commented to just buy low calorie ones but thanks to a couple Australians warning me abt them not being that available here, I wasn’t too disappointed. After some searching though I ended up buying the lowest calorie wrap I could find at Woolies which is BFree gluten free sweet potato wraps at 78 calories a wrap!!
Anyways, any tips or recommendations abt low calorie cheese / pasta in Australia would be muchhh appreciated!! 🙏🫶🏼🫶🏼
