Recently started tracking calories again and realized I’m drinking way too much creamer.
I usually brew 16 ounces of coffee and put it in my 24oz travel mug, then add creamer until it’s almost full. I usually only drink 3/4 of the coffee, but the calories still add up.
A couple years ago I was able to drink black coffee with stevia but I just can’t do that to myself again lol.
I’ve been opting for a 10 calorie monster energy drink instead of coffee, but I am worried about long term health effects of having an energy drink every day.

8 Tablespoons?! Try reducing by one tablespoon at a time until you get use to to 1-2 tablespoons.
Why not put some kind of protein drink or high protein milk instead? Or maybe almond milk?
Thats a lot of cream! But it makes sense, you’re kind of making a “brevé”, and they are delicious.
I swapped my coffee mate for the zero sugar variety and have been happy with it, they are very good tasting and coffee really hides any of the typical sugar substitute aftertaste well.. They run 10 to 20 calories per tablespoon depending on the flavor.
I’ve been using oat milk creamers that run 25 calories per tbsp. I’ve also limited myself to 3 tbsp. It sucks, but it adds way too many calories otherwise.
You need to figure out why you like the creamer. Is it mainly the sweetness or the creamy? You can experiment with adding a sweetener/sugar and then adding in a creamer and you may use less if it’s the sweetness you want.
Unpopular opinion here – make it fit lmao. I use about 5 tablespoons a day. I love my coffee and cream. Keeping it in my daily morning routine is what I need to make my day better.
But I also don’t usually eat breakfast. My coffee and cream keeps me not hungry until about 2-3 when I have a small lunch. I use the full sugar creamer though. When I used sugar free I was hungrier sooner so I went back to something that tasted better and kept me full longer.
If you absolutely want to get rid of it then measure it out carefully and every week cut it back by half a tablespoon. You’ll not even notice the decrease. Stop when you feel you’ve decreased it enough
I think your only real option is to start using less creamer. There’s a huge middle ground between a cup of creamer and black coffee.
I use high protein, low sugar milk (Fairlife). It’s not *low* calorie but at least it’s not empty calories. Nestle creamer is mostly water and vegetable oil.
i use Silk unsweet soy milk and sugar-free sweetener. it’s very creamy and only 40 cal per 1/2 cup (same as 8tbsp) and 3.5g protein.
I just go with heavy cream, because of the lower sugar. It’s only like 30cal per tbsp, and I only use maybe 2 at most.
Maybe get a zero/low calorie syrup and add some of that along with a TBSP or 2 of half n half?
Overall, 120 calories in 1 coffee (assuming that’s all you have) daily won’t kill you. But I am shocked at 8 tbsp of creamer lol
Try 1/2 cup low fat milk with a zero calorie sugar free syrup like Torani. 1/2cup of 1% milk is about 50 calories, plus you’ll get some protein with it.
I use chocolate fairlife milk as my coffee “creamer.” I make it a latte with half a serving of milk for 70 calories and 7g of protein. I sometimes add 1 pump of a sugar free syrup. It tastes delicious, and I don’t feel like im missing out on my coffee or routine.
Vanilla premier protein + a splash of milk is delicious!!
What’s the tracking app you’re using?? 👀👀
It sounds like you actually kind of hate coffee
Have you thought about using protein shakes? Someone suggested that years ago and I’ve done it ever since.
