Did You Know? Akkawi cheese gets its name from the city of Acre (Akka) where it originated. It’s been enjoyed in the Middle East for centuries.

Ingredients:

  • Bread slices
  • Spreadable butter
  • Akkawi cheese
  • Crushed pistachios
  • Sugar syrup

Directions:

  1. Spread butter on both sides of the bread slices.
  2. Generously fill with shredded Akkawi cheese, then place the second slice of bread on top.
  3. Grill in panini press until golden, crispy, and the cheese is melted.
  4. Once ready, drizzle with sugar syrup and sprinkle with crushed pistachios.
