I took a trip out of the country for vacation, and I’m not going to lie—I went into this vacation with the full intention to not worry about food.

I wanted to fully enjoy my time. Weight can come and go, but these type of experiences are few and far between.

So I enjoyed the food there, and I did not fret too much about not being able to workout. I reminded myself that I will get right back to things once I returned home, but truthfully, I was a bit nervous to step on the scale today and see what damage had been done.

Turns out I only gained .8 lbs!

I’m sure the amounting of walking I did helped a little, as well as paying attention to my hunger/satiety cues, but ultimately—I am just really thankful I am not going to be set back too much.
Even though that’s life, and there will be other vacations, holidays, and celebrations, I just know in my gut that too big of a setback would have been a bit of a mental hurdle to face (speaking for myself).

Even if I had gained more, I wouldn’t have done or do anything differently. I’d still have wanted to just focus on enjoying my time there and then get right back to tracking and working out, but I have to be honest, it’s a huge relief to know I don’t have to undo too much of my hard work.

I hope that’s not controversial to say.

If I were speaking to a friend who was in a similar situation, I 100% would tell them to not worry about it. Just enjoy your vacation and then get right back to the grind when you return.

Anyway, even though I didn’t concern myself with calories while I was there, here’s a photo of a smoothie I really enjoyed having every morning.
So wish we had these in the states. The convenience, accessibility, and price will be sorely missed. 🥲
