I’ve been obsessed with making this little cottage pie. So filling and so easy. 547 cal and 58 g of protein. It’s not the most low calorie but for the amount of protein I love it and I’m not hungry for so long after.
I make a batch of potatoes I call protein potatoes. Boil the potatoes in salt 770g, let cool. (The salt is super important because I give the potatoes flavor so they don’t need a ton of butter and fat to compensate!) Then blend up some 2% cottage cheese so it’s smooth 220g (sometimes I ad more but this is what I had), mix that into the potatoes. Then I gently fold in some unflavored whey protein powder 28g. Salt to taste. (Feel free to skip the whey it can make the texture funky but I don’t mind when it’s in a cottage pie)Then I have a batch of potatoes that’s about 6 servings 169g each
To make the cottage pie I cook some lean ground beef 6oz with some chopped carrots and peas (start with the carrots bc it take them a little bit to soften, or you can shred them in. Just two baby carrots works for me) Salt pepper onion powder. I don’t cook it completely bc it will keep cooking in the oven. Then I put that in a baking dish, cover with one serving of the potatoes and broil until the top is crispy
Honestly I eat this for breakfast and it holds me over for the whole day until dinner. For me it helps to front load my protein and it keeps me from craving things for the majority of the day
